The team competition involved pitches from research groups headed by young PhDs (under 33 years of age). 1,400 applications were made, and 469 of them were supported with a funding between 1.5 and 2 million rubles.
The following teams of Kazan University were among the recipients (institutes and team leaders listed here):
Institute of Chemistry, Vladimir Burilov — Bifunctional catalysts for tandem photo- and metal-complex / organocatalysis on a macrocyclic platform in water: synergy of properties and the use of solar energy for green chemistry;
Institute of Fundamental and Biology, Valeriya Solovyova — Formation and modulation of drug resistance of tumor spheroids under the action of induced membrane vesicles of stem and transformed human cells;
Institute of Fundamental and Biology, Elvira Rozhina — Biogenic silver nanoparticles to combat antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains;
Institute of Fundamental and Biology, Yelena Dudkina — Development of a method for the selective elimination of oncotransformed cells due to tumor-specific expression of the cytotoxic ribonuclease gene;
